Much – loved Neapolitan artist Antonio Sannino has released a new collection of original works and limited editions. Sannino studied art the old-fashioned way, tracing the footsteps of the Italian masters across Europe, absorbing their art, their home, and their legacy. But while his knowledge is rooted in history, his technique and execution speak to modernity. He uses his camera to catch the perfect fragment of light in that moment when everything seems to be frozen and timeless then realises his vision in oils on aluminium, using brushes, spatulas and his fingers. He adds and removes the paint constantly until he achieves the subtle shimmer that is unique to his work, and gives it a quality of reflectiveness, both literal and metaphorical. This collection also includes a stunning pair of limited editions, one depicting a glorious froth of pink cherry blossom hand embellished with gold leaf, and the other a spectacular triptych celebrating the transparent colours of the ocean.
